Where students absorb adult life rather than numbers and words,
Where students are taught to find their place in the world,
To love the earth and its beings,
To discover and recover,
To grow and nurture each other,
Their families and loved ones,
Through the thick of the repetition,
Day in and day out,
Punch in and out,
From paycheck to paycheck,
To bill pays and dismays.
The ups and downs and ins and outs,
Get tiresome and bitter,
and so do we.
Bordom is the killer in this adult life,
Not math and not English,
nor history or phy. ed.
Teach us what really matters,
That this life is worth living,
And its people worth loving,
And every facet amazes.
A drunk mind speaks a sober heart, but it takes great courage and strong character to attempt it with a sober mind instead.
I never thought my life would be like this.
But more importantly, I never thought life is like this for everyone.
|Q:||What surprises you most about humanity?|
|Dalai Lama:||Man, because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he uses money to recuperate his health. Then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being he does not live in the present or in the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.|
The infamous ‘Jonestown Massacre’ led by cult leader Jim Jones, where around 909 people committed mass suicide by cyanide poisoning on November 18, 1978.
….why do I get a weird deja vu feeling looking at this??????
There’s a tape from Jim Jones just before the mass suicide.
